Actions in this world are the wares for trade in the Hereafter.
اَلأعْمالُ فِي الدُّنيا تِجارَةُ الآخِرَةِ۔

All action is [as worthless] as scattered dust except that which is done with sincerity.

If you wish to work, then work for that which will save you on the Day of Presentation [of deeds].

إنَّكَ لَنْ يُغْنِيَ عَنْكَ بَعْدَ المَوْتِ إلاّ صالِحُ عَمَل قَدَّمْتَهُ، فَتَزَوَّدْ مِنْ صالِحِ العَمَلِ۔

إنَّكَ لَنْ تَحْمِلَ إلَى الآخِرَةِ عَمَلاً أنْفَعُ لَكَ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ، والرِّضا، وَالْخَوْفِ، والرَّجاءِ۔

Verily you are recompensed for your deeds and held hostage by them.
إنَّكُمْ بِأعْمالِكُمْ مُجازُونَ، وَبِها مُرْتَهِنُونَ۔

Verily you are judged by what you send forth and held hostage by what you leave behind.
إنَّكُمْ مَدينُونَ بِما قَدَّمْتُمْ، ومُرْتَهَنُونَ بِما أسْلَفْتُمْ۔

Verily you are in greater need of acting upon what you know than of learning what you don’t know.
إنَّكُمْ إلَى العَمَلِ بِما عَلِمْتُمْ أحْوَجُ مِنْكُمْ إلى تَعَلُّمِ مالَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْلَمُونَ۔

Surely you are in greater need of performing your actions than you are of articulating your words.
إنَّكُمْ إلى إعْرابِ الأعْمالِ أحْوَجُ مِنْكُمْ إلى إعْرابِ الأقْوالِ۔

You are surely in greater need of earning good deeds than you are of earning wealth.
إنَّكُمْ إلَى اكْتِسابِ صالِحِ الأعْمالِ أحْوَجُ مِنْكُمْ إلى مَكاسِبِ الأمْوالِ۔

إنَّكُمْ إلَى الاِهْتِمامِ بِما يَصْحَبُكُمْ إلَى الآخِرَةِ أحْوَجُ مِنْكُمْ إلى كُلِّ ما يَصْحَبُكُمْ مِنَ الدُّنيا۔

Verily you are requited for your actions, so do not do anything except good.
إنَّكُمْ مُجازَوْنَ بِأفْعالِكُمْ فَلاتَفْعَلَوا إلاّ بِرّاً۔

Verily if you seize the opportunity to perform righteous deeds [in this world], you will attain...
إنَّكُمْ إنِ اغْتَنَمْتُمْ صالِحَ الأعْمالِ، نِلْتُمْ مِنَ الآخِرَةِ نِهايَةَ الآمالِ۔

إنَّما المَرْءُ مَجْزِيٌّ بِما أسْلَفَ، وقادِمٌ عَلى ما قَدَّمَ۔

The bane of action is abandoning sincerity.
آفَةُ العَمَلِ تَرْكُ الإخْلاصِ۔

The bane of works is the inability of the workers.
آفَةُ الأعْمالِ عَجْزُ العُمّالِ۔

آفَةُ العَمَلِ البِطالَةُ۔

It is by action, not laziness, that reward is gained.
بِالعَمَلِ يَحْصُلُ الثَّوابُ لابِالكَسَلِ۔
