The worst knowledge is knowledge that is not action upon.
شَرُّ العِلْمِ عِلْمٌ لايُعْمَلُ بِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There are two things the ends of which can never be reached: knowledge and intellect.
شَيْئانِ لاتُبْلَغُ غايَتُهُما: اَلْعِلْمُ، والعَقْلُ۔

The disgrace of knowledge is boasting.
شَيْنُ العِلْمِ الصَّلَفُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
You must acquire knowledge, for indeed it is an honourable heritage.
عَلَيْكَ بِالعِلْمِ فَإنَّهُ وَراثَةٌ كَريمَةٌ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The knowledge of a hypocrite is [only] on his tongue.
عِلْمُ المُنافِقِ في لِسانِهِ۔

The knowledge of a believer is [manifested] in his action.
عِلْمُ المُؤْمِنِ في عَمَلِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Knowledge without action is like trees without fruit.
عِلْمٌ بِلا عَمَل كَشَجَر بِلا ثَمَر۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Knowledge without action is like a bow without a bowstring.
عِلْمٌ بِلا عَمَل كَقَوْس بِلا وَتَر۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Knowledge that is not useful is like a medicine that does not cure.
عِلْمٌ لايَنْفَعُ كَدَواء لايَنْجَعُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Knowledge that does not reform you is misguidance and wealth that does not benefit you is a curse.
عِلْمٌ لايُصْلِحُكَ ضَلالٌ، وَمالٌ لايَنْفَعُكَ وَبالٌ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Knowledge without action is a proof of Allah against His servant.
عِلْمٌ بِلا عَمَل حُجَّةٌ لِلّهِ عَلىَ العَبْدِ۔

The goal of knowledge is good action.
غايَةُ الْعِلْمِ حُسْنُ العَمَلِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The utmost goal of knowledge is fear of [the displeasure of] Allah, the Glorified.
غايَةُ الْعِلْمِ الخَوْفُ مِنَ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The end goal of knowledge is tranquillity and forbearance.
غايَةُ الْعِلْمِ السَّكينَةُ والحِلْمُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The excellence of knowledge is [in] acting upon it.
فَضيلَةُ الْعِلْمِ العَمَلُ بِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Saying ‘I don’t know’ is half of knowledge.
قَوْلُ لا أعْلَمُ نِصْفُ الْعِلْم۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Little knowledge accompanied with action is better than a lot of it without action.
قَلِيلُ الْعِلْمِ مَعَ العَمَلِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ كَثيرِهِ بِلا عَمَل۔

Knowledge cuts off the excuse of those who offer [many] excuses.
قَطَعَ الْعِلْمُ عُذْرَ المُتَعَلِّلِينَ۔

All knowledge that is not supported by the intellect is misguidance.
كُلُّ عِلْم لايُؤَيِّدُهُ عَقْلٌ مَضَلَّةٌ۔

Everything diminishes when it is expended except knowledge.
كُلُّ شَيْء يَنْقُصُ عَلَى الاِنْفاقِ إلاّ الْعِلْمُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Everything becomes precious when it becomes less (or scarce) except knowledge, for indeed it gains...
كُلُّ شَيْء يَعِزُّ حينَ يَنْزُرُ (يَنْدُرُ) إلاّ الْعِلْمَ فَإنَّهُ يَعِزُّ حينَ يَغْزُرُ۔

Every vessel becomes constricted by what is put in it except the vessel of knowledge, for verily it...
كُلُّ وِعاء يَضيقُ بِما جُعِلَ فيهِ إلاّ وِعاءَ الْعِلْمِ فَإنَّهُ يَتَّسِعُ۔

Knowledge is sufficient as loftiness.
كَفى بالْعِلْمِ رِفْعَةً۔

كُلَّمَا ازْدادَ عِلْمُ الرَّجُلِ زادَتْ عِنايَتُهُ بِنَفْسهِ، وَبَذَلَ في رِياضَتِها وَصِلاحِها جُهْدَهُ۔
