One whose patience is prolonged, his breast becomes straitened.
مَنْ طالَ صَبْرُهُ حَرِجَ صَدْرُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who sets foot upon the vessel of patience gains victory?.
مَنِ اسْتَوْطَأَ مَرْكَبَ الصَّبْرِ ظَفِرَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Patience during hardships is from the treasures of faith.
مِنْ كُنُوزِ الإيمانِ الصَّبْرُ علَى المَصائِبِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Patience in [times of] calamities is from the best judiciousness.
مِنْ أفْضَل الحَزْمِ، الصَّبْرُ عَلَى النَّوائِبِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Patience during tribulation is one of the signs of good character.
مِنْ عَلاماتِ حُسْنِ السَّجِيَّةِ الصَّبْرُ علَى البَلِيَّةِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
He who is patient is not afflicted.
ما أُصيبَ مَنْ صَبَرَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who adopts patience does not fail.
ما خابَ مَنْ لَزِمَ الصَّبْرَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Nothing obtains reward like patience does.
ما حَصَلَ الأجْرُ بِمِثْلِ الصَّبْرِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
That which you abstain from is better than that which you delight in.
ما صَبَرْتَ عَنْهُ خَيْرٌٌمِمّا إلْتَذَذْتَ بِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
How good it is for a person to refrain from that which he desires!
ما أحْسَنَ بِالإنْسانِ أنْ يَصْبِرَ عَمّا يَشْتَهي۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Afflicted one, what has made you patiently bear your disease, and [what has] made you remain...
ما صَبَّرَكَ أيُّها المُبْتَلى عَلى دائِكَ، وجَلَّدَكَ عَلى مَصائِبِكَ، وَعَزَّاكَ عَنِ البُكاءِ عَلى نَفْسِكَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There is no stumbling with patience.
لاعِثارَ مَعَ صَبْر۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Discomforts are not repelled except by patience.
لاتُدْفَعُ المَكارِهُ إلاّ بِالصَّبْرِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There is no aide better than patience.
لاعَوْنَ أفْضَلُ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Patience (or virtue) is not realized except by experiencing the pain of going against what one is...
لايَتَحَقَّقُ الصَّبْرُ (المعرُوفُ) إلاّ بِمُقاساةِ ضِدِّ المَألُوفِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
With patience, judiciousness is strengthened.
مَعَ الصَّبْرِ يَقْوَى الحَزْمُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The bitterness of patience bears the [sweet] fruit of victory.
مَرارَةُ الصَّبْرِ تُثْمِرُ الظَّفَرَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The bitterness of patience is removed by the sweetness of victory.
مَرارَةُ الصَّبْرِ تُذْهِبُها حَلاوَةُ الظَّفَرِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
How good a supporter patience is!
نِعْمَ الظَّهيرُ الصَّبْرُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
How good a succor patience is during tribulation!
نِعْمَ المَعُونَةُ الصَّبْرُ عَلَى البَلاءِ:۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The one who wears the garment of piety and certitude is [truly] guided.
هُدِيَ مَنِ ادَّرَعَ لِباسَ الصَّبْرِ واليَقينِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Do not make haste in that which Allah has not hastened for you.
لاتَسْتَعْجِلُوا بِما لَمْ يُعَجِّلْهُ اللّهُ لَكُمْ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There is no faith like patience.
لاإيمانَ كالصَّبْرِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Whoever is patient, his hardship becomes easy [to bear].
مَنْ صَبَرَ هانَتْ مُصيبَتُهُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
