One who is content does not get depressed.
مَنْ قَنِعَ لَمْ يَغْتَمَّ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Whoever is content, his worship becomes good.
مَنْ قَنِعَ حَسُنَتْ عِبادَتُهُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Whoever is content, his greed becomes less.
مَنْ قَنِعَ قَلَّ طَمَعُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is contented with the allotment of Allah becomes needless.
مَنْ قَنِعَ بِقِسْمِ اللّهِ اِسْتَغْنى۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is not satisfied with what has been decreed for him faces hardship.
مَنْ لَمْ يُقَنِّعْ بِما قُدِّرَ لَهُ تَعَنّى۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who lacks contentment is not made affluent by riches.
مَنْ عَدِمَ القَناعَةَ لَمْ يُغْنِهِ المالُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One from whom contentment turns away is not enriched by wealth.
مَنْ عَدَتْهُ القَناعَةُ لَمْ يُغْنِهِ المالُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is content with the sustenance of Allah has no need for the creation.
مَنْ قَنِعَ بِرِزْقِ اللّهِ اِسْتَغْنى عَنِ الخَلْقِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is granted contentment is preserved by it.
مَنْ وُهِبَتْ لَهُ القَناعَةُ صانَتْهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One whose soul is contented remains dignified even in hard times.
مَنْ قَنِعَتْ نَفْسُهُ عَزَّ مُعْسِراً۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is contented is spared from the humility of asking [others].
مَنْ قَنِعَ كُفِيَ مَذَلَّةَ الطَّلَبِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Whoever clings to contentment, his poverty disappears.
مَنْ لَزِمَ القَناعَةَ زالَ فَقْرُهُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who desires the blessings of the Hereafter is contented with the little [he has] of this world.
مَنْ رَغِبَ في نَعيمِ الآخِرَةِ قَنِعَ بِيَسيرِ الدُّنيا۔

One who is contented with the allotment of Allah becomes needless of the people.
مَنْ قَنِعَ بِقِسْمِ اللّهِ اِسْتَغْنى عَنِ الخَلْقِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who suffices with little becomes needless of plenty.
مَنِ اكْتَقى بِاليَسيرِ اِسْتَغْنى عَنِ الكَثيرِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One of the most honourable morals is adorning oneself with contentment.
مِنْ أكْرَمِ الخُلْقِ التَّحَلّي بِالقَناعَةِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Remaining contented is from the noble endeavours.
مِنْ شَرَفِ الهِمَّةِ لُزُومُ القَناعَةِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
How good it is for a person to be contented with little and generous with much!
ما أحْسَنَ بِالإنْسانِ أنْ يَقْنَعَ بِالقَليلِ ويَجُودَ بِالجَزيلِ۔

The best fortune is contentment.
نِعْمَ الحَظُّ القَناعَةُ۔

The best attribute is contentment.
نِعْمَ الخَليقَةُ القَناعَةُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who has been granted contentment has acquired honour.
نالَ العِزَّ مَنْ رُزِقَ القَناعَةَ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There is no treasure like contentment.
لاكَنْزَ كَالقَناعَةِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Contentment is the better of the two riches.
اَلْقَناعَةُ أفْضَلُ الغِنائَيْنِ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Contentment is the better of the two forms of continence.
اَلْقَناعَةُ أفْضَلُ العِفَّتَيْنِ۔
