Hadith #3572

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

In this profound Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), he beautifully captures the fleeting nature of the times we spend in this world and the limited nature of its pleasures. Let us delve deeper into the words of this Hadith and explore its meaning in light of the Quran.

The times of this world, even if they prolong, are short.

And its enjoyments, even if they are many, are few [when compared to the Hereafter].

Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life. But the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one's] hope.

Furthermore, reflecting on the transient nature of this world and the limited nature of its pleasures helps us maintain a balanced perspective. It prevents us from becoming too attached to worldly possessions and comforts, and instead encourages us to adopt a mindset of gratitude and contentment.
