For every heart there is anguish.
لِكُلِّ كَبَد حِرْقَةٌ۔

When you are tested, be patient.
إذا اُبْتُلِيتَ فَاصْبِرْ۔

How many a person is tested with blessings!
كَمْ مِنْ مُبْتَلًى بِالنَّعْماءِ۔

How many a person is blessed through tribulation!
كَمْ مِنْ مُنْعَم عَلَيْهِ بِالبَلاءِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Do not consider yourself secure from tribulation in your times of safety and comfort.
لاتَأْمَنْ مِنَ البَلاءِ في أمْنِكَ ورَخائِكَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
