Hadith #911

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his family, his companions, and the righteous successors.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

The fruit of good etiquette is good character.

This wise utterance emphasizes the importance of cultivating good manners and etiquette, as they are the foundation for developing a virtuous and noble character.

Let us begin by examining the key words in this Hadith. The word (thamaratu) "ثَمَرَةُ" translates to "fruit" or "result." It signifies the outcome or consequence of an action. (al-adab) "الأدبِ" refers to good manners, etiquette, and proper conduct. It encompasses all aspects of behavior, including how one speaks, acts, and interacts with others. And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

Furthermore, the Quran describes the qualities of the believers in Surah Al-Furqan, stating, (Quran 25:63)

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace.
