Hadith #341

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The provided hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

Certainly, right is weighty and wholesome while wrong is light and unwholesome.

And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds.

This verse highlights the significance of sacrificing one's life for the sake of truth and justice. It demonstrates that the truth is so weighty that it is worth giving up one's life for.

On the other hand, the word (batil) "بَاطِلَ" in Arabic refers to falsehood, deception, and falsehood. It is the opposite of truth and righteousness. The word (khafif) "خَفِيفٌ" means light, insignificant, and unwholesome. This part of the hadith emphasizes that falsehood holds no weight or substance. It lacks the depth and integrity that truth possesses.

The Quran also provides us with numerous verses that highlight the insignificance and weakness of falsehood. In Surah Al-Kahf (18:29), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says,

And say, 'The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve.'

This verse reminds us that the choice to accept or reject the truth lies with individuals. However, it also implies that falsehood holds no real power or influence. It cannot stand against the truth, no matter how much it may try to deceive or mislead.

The thought-provoking saying of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) in this hadith serves as a reminder to Muslims of the weightiness of truth and the insignificance of falsehood.
