Hadith #3482

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

سَبَبُ التَّدْميرِ سُوءُ التَّدبيرِ

which translates to

The cause of ruin is bad planning.

This concise statement by Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the significance of proper planning and organization in avoiding destruction and achieving success.

To understand the depth of this Hadith, let us examine the key words used. The word (tadmeer) "تَدْمِير" means ruin or destruction, while (soo) "سُوء" refers to something that is bad or evil. And (tadbir) "تَدْبِير" means planning or management.

And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.
