Hadith #2619

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

In this profound Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), he advises the Muslims to cling to the things that necessitate the establishment of truth and to be cautious of the things that transpose falsities to make them seem true. Let us delve deeper into the meanings of the important words in this Hadith and explore its implications in light of the Quran.

The word (mujibat) "مُوجِباتِ" in the Hadith refers to the things that necessitate or demand the establishment of truth. These are the principles, actions, and beliefs that are in accordance with the teachings of Islam and the Quran. And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah does make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

This verse emphasizes the importance of unity and holding firmly to the rope of Allah, which symbolizes the Quran and the teachings of Islam. Clinging to the mujibat, as advised by Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), is essential for maintaining unity and avoiding divisions within the Muslim community.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Anfal (8:47), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says:

And do not be like those who came forth from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And Allah is encompassing of what they do.

This verse warns against the deceptive practices and false appearances that divert people from the path of Allah. It reminds us to be cautious of muhalat al-turahat, as they can lead us away from the truth and righteousness.
