Hadith #3214

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states:

أرْضَى النَّاسِ مَنْ كانَتْ أخْلاقُهُ رَضِيَّةً۔

This Hadith emphasizes the importance of having a pleasing character. Let us delve into the deeper meaning of this Hadith in light of the Quran.

The word (ardha) "أرْضَى" means "pleased" or "satisfied." It signifies a state of contentment and fulfillment. The word (akhlaquhu) "أخْلاقُهُ" refers to one's character or manners. And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states:

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

This verse emphasizes that the most honorable and esteemed individuals in the sight of Allah are those who possess righteousness and piety. This righteousness is reflected in their character and behavior towards others.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the importance of having a pleasing character.
