Hadith #557

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

لِكُلِ شيْء مِنَ الآخِرَةِ خُلُودٌ وَبَقاءٌ

which translates to

Everything in the Hereafter has perpetuity and everlastingness.

This beautiful Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the eternal nature of the Hereafter, emphasizing that nothing in the afterlife is temporary or fleeting.

But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position].

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

This verse illustrates that the act of giving charity not only benefits the recipient in this world but also multiplies the reward for the giver in the Hereafter. The impact of this act continues to grow and bear fruit, highlighting the perpetual nature of good deeds in the Hereafter.

Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) statement also serves as a reminder of the temporary nature of this worldly life. In Surah Al-Hadid, verse 20, Allah says,

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children.

This verse reminds us that the attractions and distractions of this world are fleeting and transitory. It encourages us to shift our focus towards the Hereafter, where true permanence and everlastingness lie.
