Hadith #1492

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

بادِرِ الفُرْصَةَ قَبْلَ أنْ تَكُونَ غُصَّةً۔

This Hadith encourages Muslims to seize opportunities promptly before they turn into sources of distress. Let us delve into the deeper meaning of this Hadith in light of the Quran.

Hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous.

This verse urges us to hasten towards seeking forgiveness from Allah and striving for righteousness. It reminds us that the opportunity for forgiveness and the reward of paradise should not be delayed or missed.

Similarly, in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:148), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states,

So hasten to good deeds as much as you are able.

This verse encourages us to hasten towards performing good deeds to the best of our abilities. It emphasizes the importance of seizing the opportunity to do good before it slips away.
