Hadith #5398

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his righteous companions.

Guide us to the Straight Path

And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me

The concept of abandoning obstinacy is also emphasized in the Quran. In Surah Al-Kahf, Allah narrates the story of the people of the cave who sought refuge in a cave to protect their faith from the oppressive society. When they woke up after a long period of sleep, they realized that their society had changed. Instead of insisting on their own beliefs, they humbly sought guidance from Allah and accepted His decree. This story serves as a reminder to Muslims to be open to guidance and not to cling stubbornly to their own opinions.

When we are stubborn and refuse to acknowledge our mistakes or consider alternative viewpoints, we close ourselves off from the possibility of growth and enlightenment. This can lead to stagnation in our spiritual journey and a lack of progress in our understanding of Islam.

The consequences of continuously seeking guidance and abandoning obstinacy are profound. By seeking guidance, we align ourselves with the divine will of Allah and His chosen path. We become more aware of our own shortcomings and strive to rectify them. Seeking guidance also allows us to make informed decisions in our personal and communal lives, leading to a more harmonious and righteous society.
