Hadith #10128

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure and noble family, and his righteous companions.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) emphasizes the importance of listening to and obeying the godly leader. The Arabic word (istamiʿū) "اِسْتَمِعُوا" means "listen" or "hear," and it carries the connotation of actively paying attention and obeying. The word (rabbānīyikum) "رَبّانِيِّكُمْ" refers to the godly leader, someone who possesses deep knowledge and understanding of the religion.

Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) advises us to keep our hearts open for the godly leader. This means that we should have a receptive and humble attitude towards their teachings, allowing their words to penetrate our hearts and transform our lives. By keeping our hearts open, we demonstrate our willingness to learn, grow, and be guided by the wisdom of the godly leader.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 55, Allah says,

Your ally is none but Allah and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish prayer and give zakah, and they bow [in worship].

This verse highlights the importance of following the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and those who have believed. It is through their teachings and example that we can establish a strong connection with Allah and fulfill our obligations as Muslims.

The consequences of not listening to the godly leader can be detrimental to our spiritual growth and well-being. By disregarding their guidance, we risk straying from the right path and falling into error. The godly leader, through their deep knowledge and understanding of the religion, serves as a source of guidance and protection for the Muslim community. Their teachings help us navigate the challenges of life and make decisions that are in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

On the other hand, by actively listening to the godly leader, we can benefit from their wisdom and experience. Their guidance can help us develop a deeper understanding of the Quran and the teachings of Islam. It can also inspire us to cultivate qualities such as humility, patience, and compassion.
