Hadith #1265

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

The conception of faith is [achieved through] the recitation of the Qur’an.

This beautiful Hadith highlights the essential role of the Qur'an in nurturing and strengthening our faith as Muslims.

Let us delve into the words of this Hadith to gain a deeper understanding. The word (laqah) "لَقاحُ" refers to the conception or the beginning of something. It signifies the initial stage of faith, the moment when it takes root within a person's heart. The word (al-Iman) "الإيمانِ" refers to faith, which encompasses belief in Allah, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and other fundamental aspects of Islam. Finally, (tilawatul-Qur'an) "تَلاوَةُ القُرآنِ" means the recitation of the Qur'an.

To shed light on the significance of the Qur'an in the conception of faith, we turn to the Quranic verses. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:185),

The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur'an was revealed as guidance to mankind.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Hijr (15:9), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states,

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.

This verse highlights the divine protection of the Qur'an, ensuring its preservation and authenticity throughout the ages. It reinforces the idea that the Qur'an is a reliable source for developing and nurturing our faith.

Now, let us reflect on the connotation of this Hadith.
