One who does not know the benefit of a good action will not be capable of performing it.
مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ مَنْفِعَةَ الخَيرِ لَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَى العَملِ بِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who sends forth a good deed will find it [in the Hereafter].
مَنْ قَدَّمَ خَيْراً وَجَدَهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is falls short in performing good deeds, loses and regrets.
مَنْ قَصَرَّ عَنْ فِعْلِ الخَيْرِ خَسِرَ ونَدِمَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
From the signs of goodness is refraining from harming others.
مِنْ أماراتِ الخَيْرِ الكَفُّ عَنِ الأذى۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The good deed that is followed by hellfire is not a good deed.
ما خَيْرٌ بَعْدَهُ النّارُ بِخَيْر۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Never count as evil that through which you realized good.
لاتَعُدَّنَّ شَرّاً ما أدْرَكْتَ بِهِ خَيْراً۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Do not perform any good action in order to show off and do not abandon it out of shame.
لاتَعْمَلْ شَيْئاً مِنَ الخَيرِ رِياءً، ولا تَتْرُكْهُ حَياءً۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
None of you should ever say: ‘indeed there is one who is more worthy of doing the good action...
لايَقُولَنَّ أحَدُكُمْ إنَّ أحَداً أولى بِفِعْلِ الخَيْرِ مِنّي فَيَكونَ واللّهِ كَذلِكَ، إنَّ لِلْخَيرِ والشَّرِّ أهْلاً فَمَهْما...

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
That which you send forth of good deeds is [preserved] with the One who does not diminish [its]...
ما قَدَّمْتَهُ مِنْ خَير فَعِندَ مَنْ لا يَبْخَسُ الثَّوابَ، ومَا ارْتَكَبْتَهُ مِنْ شَرّ فَعِندَ مَنْ لا يُعْجِزُهُ العِقابُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The essential prerequisite of good action is taking the initiative in [performing] it.
مِلاكُ الخَيْرِ مُبادَرَتُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The basis of every good deed is obedience to Allah, the Glorified.
مِلاكُ كُلِّ خَيْر طاعَةُ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The key to goodness is renouncing evil.
مِفْتاحُ الخَيْرِ التَّبَرّي مِنَ الشَّرِّ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
An evil [action] that does not last is better than a good [deed] that does not last.
شَرٌّ لايَدُومُ خَيْرٌ مِن خَيْر لا يَدُومُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The one who seeks goodness through evil action, his mind and senses are corrupt.
طالِبُ الخَيْرِ بِعَمَلِ الشَّرِّ فاسِدُ العَقْلِ والحِسِّ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
He who seeks good will triumph by it.
ظَفَرَ بِالخَيْرِ مَنْ طَلَبَهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The determination to do good extinguishes the fire of evil.
عَزيمَةُ الخَيرِ تُطْفِىءُ نارَ الشَّرِّ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The planter of the tree of good reaps the sweetest fruit.
غارِسُ شَجَرةِ الخَيْرِ تَجْتَنيها أحْلى ثَمَرَة۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
You will never realize good until you renounce evil.
لَنْ تَتَحَقَّقَ الخَيرَ حتّى تَتَبَرَّأ مِنَ الشَّرِّ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
There is nothing better than [a] good [deed] except its reward.
لَيْسَ بِخَير مِنَ الخَيرِ إلاَّ ثَوابُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Goodness is not in having more wealth and children, rather goodness is only in possessing more...
لَيْسَ الخَيْرُ أن يَكْثُرَ مالُكَ ووَلَدُكَ، إنَّما الخَيْرُ أنْ يَكْثُرَ عِلْمُكَ، وَيَعْظُمَ حِلْمُكَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who advances good, gains.
مَنْ قَدَّمَ الخَيرَ غَنِمَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The doer of [a] good [deed] is better than it.
فاعِلُ الخَيرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ۔
—Ghurar al-Hikam
—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
The good action is a lasting store and a pure fruitage.
فِعْلُ الخَيْرِ ذَخيرَةٌ باقِيَةٌ، وثَمَرَةٌ زاكِيَةٌ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Send forth good actions and you will gain [in the Hereafter]; purify your actions [by performing...
قَدِّمُوا خَيراً تَغْنَمُوا، وأخْلِصُوا أعْمالَكُمْ تَسْعَدُوا۔
