Hadith #2730

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, the Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

مَنْ لَهِجََ بِالحِكْمَةِ فَقَدْ شَرَّفَ نَفْسَهُ۔

This Hadith can be translated as,

One who attaches himself to wisdom has ennobled himself.

And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], 'Be grateful to Allah.' And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy

This verse highlights the connection between wisdom and gratitude, as well as the personal benefit one derives from embracing wisdom.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Qasas, Allah mentions the story of Prophet Moses (Musa) and his encounter with the wise man, Khidr. When Moses asked to accompany Khidr and learn from him, Khidr replied, (Quran 18:67-68)

Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience. And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?

This interaction emphasizes the importance of seeking wisdom and knowledge from those who possess it, as well as the recognition that true wisdom is beyond our limited understanding.
