Hadith #7741

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

مَنْ يَعْمَلْ يَزْدَدْ قُوَّةً۔

This Hadith can be translated as,

One who works increases in strength.

Let us delve into the essence of this Hadith in light of the Quran.

The word (ya'mal) "يَعْمَلْ" in the Hadith refers to engaging in righteous actions and deeds. It encompasses all forms of worship, such as prayer, fasting, charity, and acts of kindness. This word emphasizes the importance of actively engaging in good deeds and not merely relying on faith alone. It highlights the significance of putting our beliefs into practice and striving to improve ourselves.

The word (yazdad) "يَزْدَدْ" in the Hadith means to increase or grow. It signifies that through our actions, we not only gain strength but also enhance our spiritual and moral capabilities. This increase in strength can manifest in various aspects of our lives, including our faith, character, knowledge, and resilience.

The Quran provides numerous verses that support the exegesis of this Hadith. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286),

Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.

This verse emphasizes that Allah does not expect us to perform beyond our capabilities. However, when we actively engage in good deeds and strive to improve ourselves, Allah grants us the strength and ability to overcome challenges and fulfill our responsibilities.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Ankabut (29:69), Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) states,

And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.

This verse highlights that those who exert effort and work towards righteousness will be guided by Allah. It emphasizes that our actions are not in vain, and Allah rewards our efforts by granting us guidance and support.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) reminds us of the importance of taking proactive steps towards self-improvement and righteousness. It teaches us that by engaging in good deeds, we not only strengthen our relationship with Allah but also enhance our own abilities and capacities.

In conclusion, the Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) teaches us that through our actions and deeds, we not only strengthen our relationship with Allah but also enhance our own abilities and capacities.
