Hadith #5626

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

It prevents us from responding impulsively or inappropriately, thereby preserving our good manners and character. The Quran emphasizes the importance of good etiquette in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:11),

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them.

Patience enables us to refrain from engaging in negative behavior and instead respond with kindness and respect.

Lastly, the Hadith states that patience is helpful in realizing what is sought. This implies that patience is instrumental in achieving our goals and aspirations. The Quran supports this notion in Surah Al-Imran (3:200),

O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.

Patience allows us to persist in our efforts, overcome obstacles, and attain success in both worldly and spiritual endeavors.
