Hadith #1984

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his righteous companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

إنَّ أهْلَ النّارِ كُلُّ كَفُور مَكُور۔

This Hadith can be translated into English as,

Verily all disbelieving schemers are inmates of the fire.

Let us delve into the meaning of some important words in this Hadith to gain a deeper understanding. The word (ahl) "أهْلَ" refers to the people or inhabitants of a particular place. In this context, it refers to those who will be dwelling in the Hellfire. The word (nar) "نَّارِ" means fire, specifically the fire of Hell. (kull) "كُلُّ" means all or every, emphasizing that there will be no exception for those who fall into the category being described. (kafur) "كَفُور" refers to those who disbelieve or reject the truth, and (makur) "مَكُور" means schemers or plotters.

To understand the essence of this Hadith, we can turn to the Quran for guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 39:

And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

This verse echoes the message of the Hadith, emphasizing that those who reject the signs of Allah and His guidance will be destined for the Hellfire.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Anfal, verse 59, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) warns:

And let not those who disbelieve think they will escape. Indeed, they will not cause failure [to Allah].

This verse highlights the futility of the schemes and plots of the disbelievers. No matter how cunning or crafty they may be, they will not be able to escape the consequences of their disbelief.
