Hadith #876

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

One of the conditions of faith is [having] good companionship with one’s brothers.

This Hadith emphasizes the importance of surrounding oneself with righteous and virtuous companions in order to strengthen and maintain one's faith.

Let us delve into the key words of this Hadith to gain a deeper understanding. The word (sharā’iṭ) "شَرَائِطِ" refers to the conditions or prerequisites, while (al-īmān) "الإيمَانِ" signifies faith. And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance.

This verse highlights the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who are devoted to the worship of Allah and seek His pleasure.

Additionally, in Surah Al-Furqan (25:27), Allah (تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ) warns against the detrimental effects of bad companionship, stating,

And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.'

This verse serves as a reminder of the consequences of choosing companions who lead one astray from the path of righteousness.
