Hadith #1235

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

بِالإيمانِ يُرْتَقى إلى ذُرْوَةِ السَّعادَةِ ونِهايَةِ الحُبُورِ۔

This Hadith emphasizes the significance of faith in attaining the pinnacle of felicity and the zenith of happiness.

Let us delve into the meaning of some important words in this Hadith. (Iman) "إيمان" refers to faith, belief, and conviction in the heart. It encompasses both belief in the existence and oneness of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) and the acceptance of His guidance through His messengers. (Yurtaqa) "يُرْتَقى" means to ascend or rise, indicating the upward journey towards the highest levels of happiness and success. (Dhurwa) "ذُرْوَةِ" signifies the peak or summit, representing the ultimate height of felicity. (Sa'ada) "سَّعادَةِ" refers to happiness, contentment, and well-being. Indeed, the allies of Allah - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 197, Allah states,

And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is Taqwa. So fear Me, O you of understanding.

Here, Allah emphasizes that the best provision for our journey in this world is Taqwa, which is closely linked to faith. Taqwa refers to God-consciousness, piety, and righteousness. It is through faith and Taqwa that we can attain true happiness and success in this life and the hereafter.
