Hadith #5395

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, the Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The provided Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) emphasizes the importance of careful consideration and prompt action in our daily affairs. Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), known for his deep knowledge and wisdom, advises us to proceed with an affair only after thorough deliberation and seeking advice from others. The Arabic word (rawiya) "روية" in the Hadith refers to deliberation or careful consideration before taking any action. This aligns with the Quranic teachings that encourage believers to use their intellect and seek guidance from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) in making choices. Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 197: (2:197)

And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is Taqwa (piety). So fear Me, O you of understanding.

Furthermore, the Hadith advises against procrastination and delaying actions from one day to another. It urges Muslims to perform each day's tasks on the same day, without postponing them unnecessarily. This aligns with the Quranic teachings that emphasize the importance of seizing opportunities and making the most of our time. Allah says in Surah Al-Asr, (103:1-3)

By time, indeed, mankind is in loss, except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.

The consequences of delaying actions can be detrimental. Procrastination often leads to missed opportunities, increased stress, and a lack of productivity. By emphasizing the importance of timely action, Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) encourages Muslims to be proactive and efficient in their daily lives.

It also serves as a reminder to avoid procrastination and to make the most of each day by promptly fulfilling our responsibilities and tasks.

By doing so, we can enhance our decision-making skills, increase our productivity, and ultimately seek the pleasure of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) in all our endeavors. May Allah grant us the wisdom to make sound decisions and the strength to act upon them promptly.
