Hadith #8576

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, the Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

مَاافْتَقَرَ مَنْ مَلَكَ فَهْماً۔

This can be translated as,

One who possesses understanding does not become needy.

In this enlightening Hadith, Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the significance of knowledge and understanding in preventing one from experiencing poverty or neediness.

He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Qasas, verse 14, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states, (Quran 28:14)

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good.

This verse highlights the connection between maturity, judgment, and knowledge. It indicates that knowledge is a reward for those who strive to do good deeds and seek righteousness.

Based on these Quranic verses, we can understand that knowledge and understanding are highly regarded in Islam.
