لا يَفُوزُ بِالنَّجاةِ إلاّ مَنْ قامَ بِشَرائِطِ الإيمانِ۔
None is successful in attaining salvation but the one who fulfils the requirements of faith.

(Ghurar al-Hikam: Success, Prosperity And Salvation)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.
The provided Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,
None is successful in attaining salvation but the one who fulfils the requirements of faith.
This Hadith emphasizes the importance of fulfilling the conditions and obligations of faith in order to achieve salvation.
Let us delve into the key words of this Hadith to gain a deeper understanding. The word (najah) "نَجاةِ" refers to salvation or deliverance from harm or destruction. It signifies attaining success in the hereafter and being saved from the punishment of Hellfire. The word (shara'it) "شَرائِطِ" translates to requirements or conditions, indicating the necessary obligations that must be fulfilled.
To comprehend the connotation of this Hadith, we turn to the Quran for guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177:
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
This verse highlights the various aspects of faith that must be fulfilled to attain righteousness and ultimately salvation. Belief in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets is the foundation of faith. Additionally, acts of charity, such as giving wealth to those in need, are essential. Establishing prayer and giving zakah, fulfilling promises, and practicing patience in times of difficulty are also integral parts of faith.
Furthermore, in Surah Al-Asr, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) declares, (Quran 103:1-3)
By time, indeed, mankind is in loss, except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
This verse emphasizes the importance of belief, righteous actions, and mutual guidance towards truth and patience.
Reflecting on the Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) and the supporting Quranic verses, we understand that salvation is not achieved merely through verbal profession of faith. It requires sincere belief in Allah and His messengers, as well as the fulfillment of various obligations and righteous deeds. These include acts of worship, such as establishing prayer and giving zakah, as well as acts of kindness and charity towards others.
The consequences of neglecting the requirements of faith are severe. Failing to fulfill these obligations can lead to spiritual stagnation, distance from Allah, and ultimately, loss in the hereafter. On the other hand, adhering to the conditions of faith brings about spiritual growth, closeness to Allah, and the ultimate reward of salvation.
Therefore, Muslims must strive to fulfill the requirements of faith in their entirety. They should continuously seek knowledge, reflect upon the Quran, and implement its teachings in their lives. By doing so, they will attain success in both this world and the hereafter, as they fulfill the conditions of faith and strive towards salvation.
May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) guide us all to fulfill the requirements of faith and grant us success in attaining salvation.
