Hadith #4967

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states, "المُستَسلِمُ مُوَقًّي۔" This can be translated as,

The one who surrenders [to Allah] is protected.

Let us delve into the meaning of this Hadith in light of the Quran.

Firstly, let us examine the key words in this Hadith. The word (al-mustaslim) "المُستَسلِمُ" refers to the one who submits or surrenders to Allah. It signifies a complete and sincere submission to the will of Allah, acknowledging His sovereignty and accepting His guidance. The word (muwaqqi) "مُوَقًّي" means protected or safeguarded. It implies that the one who surrenders to Allah will be granted divine protection and security.

The Quranic verses beautifully support the message of this Hadith. In Surah Al-Baqarah (2:208), Allah says,

O you who have believed, enter into peace completely and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

This verse emphasizes the importance of surrendering to Allah completely, entering into peace, and avoiding the temptations of Satan. By surrendering to Allah, we distance ourselves from the influence of the enemy, Satan, and find protection from his evil whispers.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Anfal (8:46), Allah states,

And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

This verse highlights the significance of obedience to Allah and His Messenger. When we surrender to Allah's commandments and follow the guidance of His Messenger, we are granted strength and support from Allah. This protection and assistance are bestowed upon those who submit to Allah's will.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) urges us to surrender to Allah, emphasizing the immense benefits and protection that come with it. When we submit ourselves to Allah's will, we align our actions and intentions with His divine plan.
