Hadith #798

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his purified progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

عِندَ زَوَالِ الْقُدْرَةِ يَتَبَيَّنُ الصَّدِيقُ مِنَ الْعَدُوِّ

which translates to

It is when power is lost that friend is distinguished from foe.

This profound statement by Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the true nature of individuals and their loyalty during times of adversity and weakness.

Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

This verse encourages Muslims to maintain justice and fairness towards those who do not oppose or harm them. It teaches us that true righteousness is displayed by treating others with kindness and justice, regardless of their beliefs or actions.
