Hadith #2673

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, his family (Ahl al-Bayt), and his companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (a.s) states,

الحق أبلج منزه عن المحاباة والمراياة

which translates to

The truth is illuminated and free from prejudice and hypocrisy.

This enlightening Hadith of Imam Ali (a.s) highlights the essence of truth and emphasizes its purity, devoid of any bias or deceit.

To understand the depth of this statement, let us delve into the meanings of the key words. (al-haq) "الحق" refers to the truth, the ultimate reality that aligns with the divine will. O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

This verse emphasizes the importance of avoiding mockery, insults, and offensive nicknames. It teaches us to treat others with respect and dignity, regardless of their background or appearance. By doing so, we uphold the truth and prevent prejudice from clouding our judgment.
