In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states, "الإحْتِكارُ داعِيَةُ الحِرْمانِ" which translates to "Hoarding invites deprivation." This concise statement carries profound wisdom and guidance for Muslims in understanding the consequences of hoarding and the importance of moderation in our lives.

To fully comprehend the meaning of this Hadith, let us delve into the key words used by Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ). The word (al-ihtikar) "الإحْتِكارُ" refers to the act of hoarding or accumulating excessive amounts of wealth or resources. The word (da'iyatu) "داعِيَةُ" can be translated as an invitation or a cause. And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.

And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment.

This verse serves as a stern warning against the hoarding of wealth without utilizing it for the betterment of society and the fulfillment of one's obligations towards Allah and His creation.

Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) Hadith aligns perfectly with these Quranic teachings.
