Those who are wary of [their duty towards] their Lord are driven to Paradise in throngs, having being saved from the chastisement, cut off from the punishment and delivered from the fire [of Hell] into the Abode of tranquillity, and they will pleased with their dwelling and residence.

(Ghurar al-Hikam: The God-Wary And Godfearing People)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.
This Hadith emphasizes the reward and blessings that await those who are conscious of their duty towards Allah.
Let us delve into the exegesis of this Hadith by examining its key words and their meanings. The word (ittaqaw) "اتَّقَوْا" is derived from the root word (taqwa) "تَقْوَى", which refers to the fear of Allah and the consciousness to avoid His displeasure. It is a comprehensive term that encompasses piety, righteousness, and mindfulness of Allah's commands.
The Hadith mentions that those who possess taqwa will be (siqaa) "سيق" to Paradise. The word (siqaa) "سيق" means to be driven or led towards a particular destination. In this context, it signifies that the righteous individuals will be guided and directed towards Paradise in groups or throngs. This highlights the unity and companionship that the righteous will experience in the hereafter.
The Hadith further states that these individuals will be (zumara) "زُمَراً", which means in groups or gatherings. This emphasizes the collective nature of their entry into Paradise, symbolizing the unity and harmony among the righteous believers. They will be joined together in their journey towards eternal bliss.
The Hadith also mentions that these individuals will be saved from the (iqaab) "عِقاب", which refers to punishment or chastisement. This indicates that the righteous will be protected from the consequences of their sins and will not face any form of punishment. Their fear of Allah and their adherence to His commands will shield them from the torment of Hellfire.
Furthermore, the Hadith states that they will be (inqata'a al-'itab) "انْقَطَعَ العِتابُ", meaning that the reprimand or reproach will be severed. This implies that the righteous will be free from any form of blame or criticism. Their actions and intentions will be pure and faultless, and they will not be held accountable for any wrongdoings.
The Hadith also mentions that they will be delivered from the fire of Hell, and their abode will be the (daar) "دَّارُ", which signifies a place of residence or dwelling. This highlights the contrast between the torment of Hellfire and the tranquility and peace of Paradise. The righteous will find solace and contentment in their eternal home, where they will be free from any fear or distress.
To support the exegesis of this Hadith, let us turn to the Quran for further guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Imran (3:133),
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous.
This verse emphasizes the reward of Paradise that awaits the righteous believers who seek forgiveness and strive to attain taqwa.
In Surah Al-A'raf (7:43), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states,
And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, 'Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth.' And they will be called, 'This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do.'
These verses from the Quran reinforce the concept mentioned in the Hadith that the righteous will be delivered from punishment, guided to Paradise, and granted a blissful abode. They highlight the importance of seeking forgiveness, following the guidance of the messengers, and performing righteous deeds to attain the ultimate reward.
In conclusion, the Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) provides a profound insight into the rewards that await those who possess taqwa and fulfill their duties towards Allah. It emphasizes the unity, protection, and tranquility that the righteous will experience in Paradise. By reflecting on the meanings of this Hadith and seeking guidance from the Quran, Muslims are encouraged to strive for taqwa and righteousness in order to attain the eternal blessings of the hereafter. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) grant us all the ability to embody the qualities mentioned in this Hadith and be among the righteous in the hereafter.
