Hadith #5147

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

شَرُّ الأشْرارِ مَنْ يَتَبَجَّجُ بِالشَّرِّ۔

This can be translated as,

The most evil of all people is one who boasts about his evil.

Let us delve into the meaning of some important words in this Hadith. The word (sharr) "شَرُّ" refers to evil or wickedness. It encompasses all actions, intentions, and behaviors that are morally wrong and harmful. And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.
