Hadith #7258

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

مَنْ قَلَّ عَقْلُهُ كَثُرَ هَزْلُهُ۔

This can be translated as,

One whose intellect is less, his jesting is increased.

Let us first delve into the important words of this Hadith. The word (aqluhu) "عَقْلُهُ" refers to one's intellect or understanding. It encompasses the ability to reason, comprehend, and make sound judgments. The word (kathura) "كَثُرَ" means to increase or multiply, while (hazluhu) "هَزْلُهُ" refers to jesting or frivolity.

And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.

Now, let us reflect on the wise message of Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) Hadith.
