(Ghurar al-Hikam: Paradise And The People Of Paradise)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.
The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states, "الجنة أفضل غاية" which translates to
Paradise is the most excellent goal.
This concise statement by Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) holds profound significance and serves as a reminder for all Muslims about the ultimate purpose of our existence.
The word (Paradise) "الجنة" refers to the eternal abode of bliss and reward that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) has promised to the righteous believers. It is a place of unimaginable beauty, where the inhabitants will be granted everlasting happiness and fulfillment. The concept of Paradise is mentioned numerous times in the Quran, emphasizing its importance and desirability for believers.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Imran (3:133):
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous.
The word (most excellent) "أفضل" signifies the superiority and excellence of Paradise as the ultimate goal for every Muslim. It highlights the incomparable nature of Paradise, surpassing any worldly pleasures or achievements. This word emphasizes that there is nothing more valuable or desirable than attaining Paradise.
In Surah Al-Sajdah (32:17), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states:
No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.

By increasing our understanding of the Quran and the Sunnah, we can align our actions with the guidance of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) and increase our chances of attaining Paradise.
