Hadith #8662

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure Ahl al-Bayt, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

أغْنَى النّاسِ اَلرّاضي بِقِسْمِ اللّهِ۔

This can be translated as,

The wealthiest of people is one who is pleased with what Allah has allotted to him.

Let us delve into the essence of this Hadith by examining the important words and concepts it contains. The word (aghnā) "أغْنَى" refers to being rich or wealthy. It indicates a state of contentment and sufficiency, not only in terms of material possessions but also in the spiritual and emotional aspects of life. To further understand the significance of this Hadith, let us turn to the Quran for guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 216:

But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not.

This verse reminds us that what we desire or dislike may not always be in our best interest. Allah's wisdom surpasses our limited understanding, and He knows what is truly beneficial for us.

In Surah At-Tawbah, verse 51, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says:

Say, 'Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.' And upon Allah let the believers rely.

This verse emphasizes the importance of accepting Allah's decree and relying on Him. It reminds us that everything that happens to us is part of His divine plan, and our trust in Him should be unwavering.
