Hadith #6042

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

فِي الطّاعَةِ كُنُوزُ الأرباحِ۔

This can be translated as,

In obedience [to Allah] there are treasures of benefit.

Let us delve into the profound wisdom contained within this statement and explore its meaning in light of the Quran.

The word (ta'ah) "طاعة" in this Hadith refers to obedience, submission, and compliance to the commandments of Allah. It encompasses all acts of worship, both obligatory and recommended, as well as refraining from what is forbidden. Obedience to Allah is the cornerstone of our faith and the key to attaining His pleasure and rewards.

The Hadith highlights that within obedience to Allah lies (kunuz al-arbah) "كُنُوزُ الأرباحِ", which can be translated as "treasures of benefit." This phrase emphasizes the immense value and abundant rewards that are bestowed upon those who sincerely and wholeheartedly submit to the will of Allah.

The Quran provides numerous verses that support the concept of treasures of benefit being found in obedience to Allah. For instance, Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:155),

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.

This verse reminds us that even in times of hardship and adversity, those who remain patient and obedient to Allah will be rewarded with blessings and treasures.

Furthermore, in Surah Al-Hadid (57:12), Allah says,

Indeed, those who give zakah and those who give charity and those who believe in Allah and the Last Day - to them We will surely give a great reward.

This verse highlights the rewards that await those who fulfill their obligations towards Allah and His creation, including acts of charity and giving.

The treasures of benefit mentioned in the Hadith encompass both worldly and spiritual rewards. Worldly benefits may include peace of mind, contentment, and blessings in one's wealth, health, and relationships. Spiritual benefits, on the other hand, include increased closeness to Allah, purification of the soul, and the attainment of eternal Paradise.

When we reflect on the Hadith, we realize that obedience to Allah is not merely a duty or a burden, but rather a means to attain success and prosperity in this life and the hereafter. It is through obedience that we unlock the treasures of Allah's mercy, blessings, and guidance.

Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), known for his profound knowledge and wisdom, reminds us of the immense benefits that lie within obedience to Allah. By adhering to His commandments, we align our actions with His divine wisdom and guidance, which leads to a life of righteousness, fulfillment, and tranquility.
