Hadith #7416

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

The knowledge of a hypocrite is [only] on his tongue.

This impactful saying highlights the deceptive nature of a hypocrite, who may appear to possess knowledge and speak eloquently, but their knowledge is superficial and lacks sincerity.

When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, 'We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah.' And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.

And of the people are some who say, 'We believe in Allah and the Last Day,' but they are not believers. They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not. In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) statement emphasizes the importance of sincerity and genuine faith.
