Hadith #6020

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The provided Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

By obedience Paradise is brought closer for the pious.

This Hadith emphasizes the importance of obedience to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) and its direct correlation to attaining Paradise.

Let us delve into the words of this Hadith to gain a deeper understanding. The word (ta'ah) "طاعة" refers to obedience, submission, and compliance. To further comprehend the significance of obedience in attaining Paradise, let us turn to the Quran for guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says in Surah Al-Imran (3:31),

Say, [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.'

This verse highlights the connection between love for Allah and obedience to His Messenger (ﷺ). By obeying the Prophet (ﷺ), one earns the love and forgiveness of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ).

Additionally, in Surah Al-A'raf (7:56), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states,

And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.

This verse emphasizes the importance of avoiding corruption and invoking Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) with both fear and hope. The "doers of good" mentioned here are those who strive to obey Allah's commands and seek His pleasure.

Now, let us reflect on the enlightening message of this Hadith. Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), known for his immense knowledge and wisdom, reminds us that Paradise is not a distant and unattainable goal.
