لَمْ يَتْرُكِ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ خَلْقَهُ مُغْفَلاً، ولا أمْرَهُمْ مُهْمَلاً۔
Allah, the Glorified, does not leave His creation unheeded, nor does He neglect their affairs.
— Imam Ali a.s.
(Ghurar al-Hikam: The Proof (Of Allah))
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.
The provided Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) emphasizes the profound attention and care that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) bestows upon His creation. The Arabic word (mughfalan) "مُغْفَلاً" refers to being unheeded or neglected, while (muhmala) "مُهْمَلاً" means being left unattended or disregarded.
To understand the depth of this Hadith, we can turn to the Quran for further guidance. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) repeatedly emphasizes His knowledge, awareness, and involvement in the affairs of His creation. In Surah Al-An'am, verse 59, Allah says,
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.
This verse highlights the comprehensive knowledge of Allah, who knows every detail of what happens in the universe. Not even a single leaf falls without His knowledge. This demonstrates that Allah is fully aware of the smallest and seemingly insignificant matters, indicating that He does not neglect anything.
Furthermore, in Surah Al-Hadid, verse 4, Allah says,
It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein. And He is with you wherever you are. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.
This verse highlights Allah's omnipresence and His knowledge of everything that occurs on earth and in the heavens. It affirms that Allah is fully aware of what happens within the depths of the earth and what descends from the heavens. This further reinforces the idea that Allah does not neglect or overlook any aspect of His creation.
Based on these Quranic verses, we can understand that Allah's knowledge encompasses every detail of His creation. He is fully aware of what happens in the universe, from the smallest to the greatest matters. Therefore, the Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) serves as a reminder to Muslims that Allah does not leave His creation unheeded or neglect their affairs.
This profound understanding has significant implications for our lives as Muslims. It reminds us that Allah is always watching over us, aware of our struggles, and attentive to our needs. It instills in us a sense of trust and reliance on Allah's wisdom and mercy. We should never feel abandoned or neglected, for Allah is always there, guiding and protecting us.
Moreover, this Hadith also highlights the importance of recognizing Allah's constant involvement in our lives. It encourages us to be mindful of our actions and to strive for righteousness, knowing that Allah is fully aware of our deeds. This awareness should motivate us to lead a life that is pleasing to Allah, seeking His forgiveness and guidance in all our affairs.
In conclusion, the Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) serves as a powerful reminder of Allah's unwavering attention and care for His creation. It aligns with the Quranic teachings that emphasize Allah's comprehensive knowledge and involvement in every aspect of our lives. As Muslims, we should take solace in the fact that Allah never neglects or abandons us, and we should strive to live our lives in accordance with His guidance. May Allah bless us all and grant us the ability to recognize His constant presence in our lives.
