Sincere Advice

There is no advice like warning [against evil]. لانُصْحَ كَالتَّحْذِيرِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who disobeys his sincere adviser has assisted his adversary. مَنْ عَصى نَصِيحَهُ نَصَرَ ضِدَّهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who turns towards the sincere adviser turns away from evil. مَنْ أقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّصِيحِ أعْرَضَ عَنِ القَبِيحِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who considers the sincere adviser to be a deceiver is engulfed by evil. مَنِ اسْتَغَشَّ النَّصِيحَ غَشِيَهُ القَبيحُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who shuns the advice of a sincere adviser is burnt by the evil schemes of the one who harbours... مَنْ أعْرَضَ عَنْ نَصِيحَةِ النَّاصِحِ أُحْرِقَ بِمَكِيدَةِ الكاشِحِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Whoever opposes [good] advice, perishes. مَنْ خالَفَ النُّصْحَ هَلَكَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم At times the [only] benefit a sincere adviser gains [for his advice] is suspicion [about his... قَدْ يَسْتَفِيدُ الظِّنَّةَ النّاصِحُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم The one from whom [good] advice is sought may at times deceive. قَدْ يَغُشُّ الْمُسْتَنْصِحُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم At times one who is not a sincere adviser may give good advice. قَدْ يَنْصَحُ غَيْرُ النّاصِحِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم How can one who deceives himself give sincere advice to others?. كَيْفَ يَنْصَحُ غَيْرَهُ مَنْ يَغُشَّ نَفْسَهُ؟! —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Sometimes the reliable advisor may betray [you] and the one who is [deemed] disloyal may give good... لَرُبَّما خانَ النَّصِيحُ المُؤْتَمَنُ ونَصَحَ المُسْتَخانُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Whoever gives you sincere advice has indeed helped you. مَنْ نَصَحَكَ فَقَدْ أنْجَدَكَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Do not deceive the one who seeks advice from you. مَنِ اسْتَنْصَحَكَ فَلا تَغُشَّهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who gives you sincere advice has shown concern for you. مَنْ نَصَحَكَ أشْفَقَ عَلَيْكَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم He who deems the sincere adviser to be a deceiver, considers evil to be good. مَنِ اسْتَغَشَّ النَّصِيحَ اِسْتَحْسَنَ القَبِيحَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who accepts [good] advice remains safe from disgrace. مَنْ قَبِلَ النَّصيحَةَ أمِنَ مِنَ الفَضِيحَةِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Sincere advice reaps affection. النَّصِيحَةُ تُثْمِرُ الْوُدَّ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
