One whose competence is good is loved by his sovereign.
مَنْ حَسُنَتْ كِفايَتُهُ أحَبَّهُ سُلْطانُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is raised [to a high rank] without competence is dropped without wrongdoing.
مَنْ رُفِعَ بِلا كِفايَة وُضِعَ بِلا جِنايَة۔

One whose competence is good deserves [to be given] authority.
مَنْ أحْسَنَ الكِفايَةَ اِسْتَحَقَّ الوِلايَةَ۔
