قُرِنَ الإكْثارُ بِالمَلَلِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is loquacious is abandoned.
مَنْ أكْثَرَ هُجِرَ۔

One who talks too much makes others fed up.
مَنْ كَثُرَ مَقالُهُ سُئِمَ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who speaks too much [makes] blunders.
مَنْ كَثُرَ كَلامُهُ زَلَّ۔

One who speaks too much gets rebuked more.
مَنْ كَثُرَ كَلامُهُ كَثُرَ مَلامُهُ۔

One who does too much of something is known by it.
مَنْ أكْثَرَ مِنْ شَيْء عُرِفَ بِهِ۔
