Admission And Confession Of One’s Sins

How appropriate it is for one who knows his Lord to admit his sins. ما أخْلَقَ مَنْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ أنْ يَعْتَرِفَ بِذَنْبِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم The best intercessor for a sinner is [his] admission [of guilt]. نِعْمَ شافِعُ المُذْنِبِ الإقْرارُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم There is no apology that wipes out sins more than admission [of one’s guilt]. لاَاعْتِذارَ أمْحى لِلذَّنْبِ مِنَ الإقرار ِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Pardon bears more fruit with admission [of one’s guilt] than it does with giving excuses. يُسْتَثْمَرُ العَفْوُ بِالإقْرارِ أكْثَرَ مِمّا يُسْتَثْمَرُ بِالاِعْتِذارِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Confession is the intercessor of the wrongdoer. اَلاِعْتِرافُ شَفيعُ الجاني۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Admission [of one’s guilt] is [a means of] seeking pardon. الإقْرارُ اِعْتِذارٌ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
