Turning Towards Allah

Verily if you turn towards Allah you have progressed, and if you turn away from Him, you have... إنَّكُمْ إنْ أقْبَلْتُمْ عَلَى اللّهِ أقْبَلْتُمْ، وإنْ أدْبَرْتُمْ عَنْهُ أدْبَرْتُمْ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم By turning towards [Allah] misfortunes are warded off. بِالإقْبالِ تُطْرَدُ النُّحُوسُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Making a good choice, doing good to the freemen and taking adequate precaution [or support] are... حُسْنُ الاِخْتيارِ، واِصْطِناعُ الأحْرارِ، وفَضْلُ الاِسْتِظْهارِ، مِنْ دَلائِلِ الإقْبالِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم For every advance [and progress] there is a retreat [and a regress]. لِكُلِّ إقْبال إدْبارٌ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One of the signs of turning [towards Allah] is doing good to the people. مِنْ عَلاماتِ الإقْبالِ اِصْطِناعُ الرِّجالِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم From the signs of turning [to Allah] are: correctness of speech and kindness in actions. مِنْ عَلاماتِ الإقْبالِ: سَدادُ الأقْوالِ، والرِّفْقُ فِي الأفْعالِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
