I am amazed at the one who is negligent, while death is swift in seeking him.
عَجِبْتُ لِغافِل، والمَوْتُ حَثيثٌ في طَلَبِهِ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One whose negligence is prolonged, his destruction is hastened.
مَنْ طالَبَ غَفْلَتُهُ تَعَجَّلَتْ هَلَكَتُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One whose negligence overcomes him, his heart dies.
مَنْ غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ الغَفْلَةُ ماتَ قَلْبُهُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
One who is negligent about the events of [his] days is awakened by death.
مَنْ غَفَلَ عَنْ حَوادِثِ الأيّامِ أيْقَظَهُ الحِمامُ۔

—غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
Woe be to the one who is overcome by negligence so he forgets his [final] journey and does nor...
وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ الغَفْلَةُ فَنَسِيَ الرِّحْلَةَ ولَمْ يَسْتَعِدَّ۔

No deed is accepted from the negligent one.
لاعَمَلَ لِغافِل۔
