Victory

Victory is [attained] by prudence, and prudence comes through experience. اَلظَّفَرُ بِالحَزْمِ، والحَزْمُ بِالتَّجارِبِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم The sweetness of victory effaces the bitterness of patience. حَلاوَةُ الظَّفَرِ تَمْحُو مَرارَةَ الصَّبْرِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم The alms-tax of victory is benevolence. زَكاةُ الظَّفَرِ الإحْسانُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم He who has been vanquished by sin has not gained victory. ما ظَفِرَ مَنْ ظَفَرَ الإثْمُ بِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم The key to victory is remaining patient. مِفْتاحُ الظَّفَرِ لُزُومُ الصَّبْرِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Never become vain because of [your] victory, for indeed you are not safe from the victory of time... لاتَبْطِرَنَّ بِالظَّفَرِ، فَإنَّكَ لا تَأمَنُ ظَفَرَ الزَّمانِ بِكَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم There is no victory for the one who has no patience. لا ظَفَرَ لِمَنْ لا صَبْرَ لَهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Victory is the intercessor of the guilty. اَلظَّفَرُ شافِعُ المُذْنِبِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
