The Way and The Course

Blessed is the one who embarks on the way of the honorable and sticks to the highway of... طُوبى لِمَنْ رَكِبَ الطَّريقَةَ الغَرّاءِ، ولَزِمَ المَحَجَّةَ البَيْضاءَ وتَوَلَّهَ بِالآخِرَةِ، وأعْرَضَ عَنِ الدُّنيا۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Indeed, the highway of truth has been made manifest for those who seek it. قد وضَحَتْ مَحَجَّةُ الحَقِّ لِطُلاّبِها۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم They have indeed been given time to seek deliverance and have been guided to the clear course. قَدْ أُمْهِلُوا في طَلَبِ المَخْرَجِ، وَهُدُوا سَبيلَ المَنْهَجِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who deviates from the clear tracks ends up following the courses of destruction. مَنْ عَدَلَ عَنْ واضِحِ المَسالِكِ سَلَكَ سُبُلَ المَهالِكِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who slips from the highway of the course falls into the perplexity of narrowness. مَنْ زَلَّ عَنْ مَحَجَّةِ الطَّريقِ وَقَعَ في حَيْرَةِ المَضيقِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who deviates from the clear highway drowns in the depths of the sea. مَنْ عَدَلَ عَنْ واضِحِ المَحَجَّةِ، غَرِقَ فِي اللُّجَّةِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Hold back from [traversing] a path when you fear its deviation. أمْسِكْ عَنْ طَريق إذا خِفْتَ ضَلالَتَهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Adopt the way of steadfastness, for indeed it will earn you honour and save you from reproach. عَلَيْكَ بِمَنْهَجِ الاِسْتِقامَةِ، فَإنَّهُ يُكْسِبُكَ الكَرامَةَ، وَيَكْفيكَ المَلامَةَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Take to the highway of illumination [and truth] and follow it, otherwise Allah will replace you... عَلَيْكُمْ بِالمَحَجَّةِ البَيْضاءِ فَاسْلُكُوها، وإلاّ اسْتَبْدَلَ اللّهُ بِكُمْ غَيْرَكُمْ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Whoever deviates from the truth, good becomes evil for him and evil becomes good, and he gets... مَنْ زاغَ ساءَتْ عِنْدَهُ الحَسَنَةُ، وحَسُنَتْ عِنْدَهُ السَّيِّئَةُ، وسُكِرَ سُكْرَ الضَّلالَةِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Do not permit your selves to take you into the paths of the oppressors. لا تُرَخِّصُوا لأنْفُسِكُمْ أنْ تَذْهَبَ بِكُمْ في مَذاهِبِ الظَّلَمَةِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
