Eagerness And Longing

Longing [for Allah and the Hereafter] is from the qualities of those who have certitude. اَلشَّوْقُ شيمَةُ المُوقِنينَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Longing [for Allah] is the intimate companion of the Gnostics. اَلشَّوْقُ خُلْصانُ العارِفينَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who longs [for Allah] forgets [this world]. مَنِ اشْتاقَ سَلا۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who longs [for Allah] sets out [towards him] at nightfall. مَنِ اشْتاقَ أدْلَجَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
