Doing Wrong To Others

Beware of doing wrong [to others], for indeed it is a vile quality and verily the one who hurts... إيّاكَ وَ الإساءَةَ، فَإنَّها خُلْقُ اللِّئامِ، وَإنَّ المُسِيءَ لَمُتَرَدّ في جَهَنَّمَ بِإساءَتِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Verily if you do wrong [to others] then you are only debasing and harming yourself. إنَّكَ إنْ أسَأتَ فَنَفْسَكَ تَمْتَهِنُ، وَ إيّاها تَغْبِنُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Counter the wrongs [of others] by doing good [to them]. ضادُّوا الإسائَةَ بِالإحْسانِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who is thanked for doing wrong is [actually] mocked for it. مَنْ شُكِرَ علَى الإسائَةِ سُخِرَ بِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who wrongs his subjects pleases his enviers. مَنْ أساءَ إلى رَعِيَّتِهِ سَرَّ حُسّادَهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who wrongs others brings upon himself a severe reprisal. مَنْ أساءَ اِجْتَلَبَ سُوءُ الجَزاءِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Whoever treats people badly, they requite him with the same treatment. مَنْ عامَلَ النّاسَ بِالإساءَةِ كافَؤُهُ بِها۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who proceeds in the course of his offences stumbles in his progress. مَنْ جَرى في مَيْدانِ إساءَتِهِ كَبا في جَرْيِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Do not wrong the person who does good to you, for one who wrongs the person who does him a favour... لا تُسِيْ إلى مَنْ أحْسَنَ إلَيْكَ، فَمَنْ أساءَ إلى مَنْ أحْسَنَ إلَيْهِ مُنِعَ الإحْسانُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Whoever wrongs his [own] family, no hope [of any goodness] can be attached to him. مَنْ أساءَ إلى أهْلِهِ لَمْ يَتَّصِلْ بِهِ تَأْميلٌ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
