Charity

Fortify [and protect] your wealth by [giving] charity. حَصِّنُوا أمْوالَكُمْ بِالزَّكاةِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم And charity [was prescribed as] a means of sustenance. والزَّكاةَ تَسَبُّباً (تَسْبيباً) للرِّزقِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who pays his zakāt is protected from the greediness of his soul. مَنْ أدّى زَكوةَ مالِهِ وُقِيَ شُحَّ نَفْسهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
